Specialist Geoscientist/Engineer Job Opportunity in Abu Dhabi, UAE

ABC Recruitment is currently hiring an experienced Specialist Geoscientist/Engineer for an on-site position in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This is an excellent opportunity for highly skilled geoscience and engineering professionals with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to join a leading client on major exploration and production projects.

If you have expertise in geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering, petrophysics, or petroleum engineering, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile upstream oil and gas operations.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing expert geoscience and engineering support for exploration, appraisal, development, and production projects.

• Performing geological, geophysical, petrophysical, reservoir, and production engineering studies.

• Interpreting subsurface datasets including:

  • Seismic data

  • Well logs

  • Core analysis

  • Reservoir performance data

• Conducting reservoir characterization and reserves evaluation.

• Supporting field development planning and production forecasting.

• Preparing technical reports and presentations.

• Participating in technical reviews, multidisciplinary workshops, and risk assessments.

• Supporting drilling, completion, and well intervention activities.

• Identifying opportunities to improve reservoir performance and hydrocarbon recovery.

• Ensuring compliance with client technical standards and HSE requirements.

• Mentoring junior engineers and geoscientists.

• Providing daily technical support at the client's premises.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in:

  • Geology

  • Geophysics

  • Petroleum Engineering

  • Reservoir Engineering

  • Or a related discipline

• Master's degree is preferred.

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

• Experience working with national or international oil companies.

• Strong background in:

  • Reservoir studies

  • Field development planning

  • Integrated asset management

• Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Successful candidates should have experience with:

• Reservoir characterization

• Geological interpretation

• Seismic interpretation

• Petrophysical evaluation

• Production optimization

• Reservoir simulation

• Drilling support

• Technical reporting

• Multidisciplinary collaboration

• Risk assessment

• Field development planning
