About the Role
The Geoscience Consultant serves as a technical authority within the Exploration & Production (E&P) division. The successful candidate will support exploration, appraisal, field development, and production activities through integrated geological and geophysical interpretation.
This position requires strong technical expertise in subsurface evaluation, prospect generation, geological risk assessment, and resource estimation while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across exploration and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Subsurface Interpretation & Prospect Generation
Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data.
Analyze well logs and core data.
Develop structural and stratigraphic geological models.
Build sedimentological frameworks.
Identify and mature exploration leads and prospects.
Perform basin analysis and petroleum systems evaluation.
Conduct source rock assessments.
Generate prospect volumetrics including:
GRV
STOIIP
GIIP
Perform probabilistic geological risk assessments.
Seismic Interpretation & Geophysical Analysis
The successful candidate will:
Perform advanced seismic interpretation.
Carry out seismic attribute analysis.
Evaluate AVO and DHI responses.
Support seismic inversion studies.
Integrate seismic and well data.
Collaborate on seismic acquisition planning.
Review seismic processing quality.
Well Planning & Drilling Support
Responsibilities include:
Preparing geological well prognosis.
Predicting formation tops.
Forecasting pore pressure.
Defining geological drilling objectives.
Supporting real-time drilling operations.
Updating geological models using:
Mud logging data
MWD data
LWD data
Conducting post-well geological evaluations.
Resource Estimation & Reserves Assessment
The Geoscience Consultant will:
Prepare PRMS-compliant resource estimates.
Estimate:
Prospective Resources
Contingent Resources
Reserves
Perform Monte Carlo simulations.
Conduct portfolio uncertainty analysis.
Support Competent Person Reports (CPR).
Assist regulatory reporting.
Technical Leadership
Key leadership duties include:
Mentoring junior geoscientists.
Providing technical coaching.
Leading peer reviews.
Participating in technical assurance processes.
Supporting Field Development Plans (FDP).
Presenting technical findings to senior management.
Supporting investment committees and JV partners.
Collaboration
The role involves close collaboration with:
Reservoir Engineers
Petrophysicists
Drilling Engineers
Production Teams
Facilities Engineers
Commercial Analysts
National Oil Companies (NOCs)
Joint Venture Partners

Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or Earth Sciences.
Master's degree or PhD is highly preferred.
Minimum 8 years of progressive oil and gas industry experience.
Experience in exploration, appraisal, or development geology.
Experience across multiple geological basins.
