Position: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Type: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience Required: 5+ years (Tunnel projects)
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a critical role in tunnel and underground structure development.
📊 Technical Reporting
Prepare geotechnical data reports
Develop geotechnical interpretation reports
Create geotechnical design reports for tunnels and shafts
🏗️ Support of Excavation
Design temporary excavation support systems
Produce reports and construction drawings
🧱 Tunnel Lining Design
Prepare tunnel lining documentation
Perform lateral earth pressure calculations
Provide structural-geotechnical coordination
📉 Ground Settlement & Impact Analysis
Conduct settlement analysis for:
Shafts
Tunnels
Adjacent buildings
Utilities and third-party infrastructure
Develop and implement settlement monitoring plans
🧪 Site Investigation & Construction Support
Plan and execute geotechnical investigations
Review as-built drawings and existing subsurface data
Provide recommendations for construction methods
Perform construction observation and inspection
Support brick operations with testing and geotechnical oversight
🎓 Basic Qualifications
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Engineering Geology
✔ Minimum 5 years of tunnel inspection experience
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
✔ Master’s Degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering
✔ Professional Engineer (PE) License
✔ Strong academic background in:
Soil & Rock Mechanics
Structural Analysis
Foundation Engineering
Earthquake Engineering
Tunnel Engineering
Reinforced Concrete & Steel Design
✔ Experience in:
Slope stability analysis
Excavation support design
Construction impact assessment
Geotechnical parameter recommendations
✈ Additional Requirements
Willingness to work extended hours or weekends (if required)
Ability to travel up to 20% for project needs
