GeoJobs360 presents an executive career opportunity: Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Company (AMAK) is actively recruiting a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Database Geologist to join their team in Saudi Arabia.
The ideal candidate will take full operational responsibility for managing and maintaining the company’s central exploration database, ensuring all geological, geochemical, drilling, and survey data remain accurate, validated, secure, and compliant with international standards. This position plays a pivotal role in delivering structured datasets to support geological interpretation, resource estimation, and technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the company’s exploration databases and central software applications.
- Ensure overall accuracy, completeness, integrity, security, and quality control of exploration data.
- Validate, import, synchronize, and audit geological, drilling, sampling, downhole survey, and assay laboratory data.
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, operational reports, automated processes, and data management workflows.
- Establish and enforce data management protocols, technical documentation, directory file structures, naming conventions, and quality controls.
- Deliver verified datasets and database support for 3D geological interpretation, resource estimation, implicit modeling, and official reporting.
- Support software integration with GIS systems, geological modeling platforms, and analytical laboratories, including staff training.
- Collaborate directly with field geologists, GIS specialists, surveyors, analytical laboratories, drilling contractors, and IT personnel to improve data capture efficiency.
Educational Qualifications & Technical Stack
Educational Background & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in mineral exploration, including dedicated background in exploration database administration
- Strong practical understanding of core drilling, sampling protocols, geological logging, QA/QC standards, and laboratory data management
Software & Language Requirements:
- Database Software: Maxwell DataShed, SQL
- GIS Software: ArcGIS and/or QGIS, ioGAS
- Modeling Software: Leapfrog Geo, Edge, and/or Datamine
- General Tools: MS Office Suite
- Language: Strong English communication skills (both oral and written)
