Job Summary
The Senior Wellsite Geologist will play a key role in supporting drilling operations and ensuring accurate geological interpretation during well construction activities. The successful candidate will provide geological supervision, geosteering support, formation evaluation, and real-time decision-making to optimize drilling performance and reservoir understanding.
The role requires strong operational geology experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced drilling environment while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and supervise geological operations during drilling activities.
Perform real-time geological interpretation and formation evaluation.
Conduct geosteering activities to optimize well placement.
Analyze drilling data, pressure data, and temperature information.
Support reservoir characterization and petrophysical evaluations.
Prepare daily geological reports and operational summaries.
Coordinate with drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, and subsurface teams.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and company procedures.
Provide technical recommendations to support drilling decisions.
Participate in operational meetings and technical reviews.
Education Requirements
Candidates should possess one of the following qualifications:
Technician Diploma (BTS) in Geosciences
Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geosciences
Master's Degree or higher in Geosciences-related disciplines
Experience Requirements
Applicants should meet the following experience criteria:
Minimum 7 years of experience in Operations Geology.
At least 3 years of experience working as a Senior Wellsite Geologist.
Proven experience in drilling operations and geological supervision.
Strong background in geosteering and formation evaluation.
