Job Description
The successful candidate will provide geological support to mining operations through exploration activities, resource evaluation, geological mapping, grade control, sampling programs, and geological data management.
The role plays an important part in ensuring safe, efficient, and productive mining operations while maintaining high geological and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct geological mapping and field investigations.
Support mineral exploration programs.
Perform resource evaluation and reserve estimation activities.
Manage geological databases and geological information systems.
Implement and monitor grade control procedures.
Ensure compliance with QAQC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) standards.
Prepare geological reports and technical documentation.
Collaborate with mining engineers and operational teams.
Assist in geological modelling and resource development projects.
Maintain accurate sampling and geological records.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Education
Grade 12 Certificate
BSc Honours Degree in Geology or equivalent qualification
Experience
5–8 years of geology experience within a mining environment
Proven experience in:
Mineral exploration
Geological mapping
Sampling programs
Resource evaluation
Grade control
Quality management
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of QAQC principles
Experience with geological modelling
Knowledge of grade control practices
Proficiency in SURPAC geological software
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Additional Requirements
Valid Driver's License
Strong analytical and reporting skills
Ability to work in a mining environment
