🧪 Job Summary
The selected Geologist will work in a Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Laboratory and will be responsible for soil and rock investigations, supervision of laboratory tests, interpretation of field data, and preparation of professional geotechnical reports. The role requires compliance with local authority standards and coordination with engineers, site teams, and lab technicians.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
As a Geologist, your main duties will include:
Conducting soil, rock, and aggregate investigations for civil and infrastructure projects
Supervising and interpreting geotechnical laboratory tests, including:
Soil classification
Compaction tests
Shear strength tests
CBR tests
Reviewing and analyzing borehole logs, trial pits, and field investigation data
Preparing detailed geotechnical and geological reports with clear findings and engineering recommendations
Ensuring compliance with Dubai and UAE local authority standards
Coordinating with laboratory technicians, site teams, and project engineers
Assisting in:
Foundation recommendations
Earthworks evaluation
Construction material suitability assessments
Maintaining proper documentation, test records, and quality control procedures
Supporting audits and laboratory accreditation requirements
🎓 Qualifications & Experience Required
To be eligible for this role, candidates should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology
Master’s degree is an advantage
3–5 years of experience in a civil engineering or geotechnical laboratory
Strong understanding of:
Soil mechanics
Rock mechanics
Construction materials
Experience with UAE or Gulf construction projects (preferred)
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory standards (added advantage)
Excellent technical report writing skills
